The Artist in the Making Part II

Alliya's Self Potrait
May 2003

Actually this picture was drawn by Alliya a long time ago when she was about 4+ years old in 2003. It represents her-self at that time. Doesn't matter what others might have think about the drawing.. but to me, I'll always treasure all her masterpieces!!

The Trio's Aquaria Trip AGAIN!!

29 May 2008 (Thursday)
Aquaria, KL (AGAIN!!)

It seems that the girls love to go to Aquaria. I'm losing count already to the number of trips that Alliya had made to the Aquaria. Definitely I think this is her 2nd time being there with both, Farah and Yani. Their first trip was in 2006 and the link is here: http://filah65.fotopages.com/?entry=946819 and AGAIN thanks to their Uncle Am.. AGAIN for sponsoring the tickets. Not much changes has been made to this place and its exhibition.. but I think the number of exhibits @ fish is getting lesser.. But the girls still enjoy themselves.. it's not so much about the place, it's the company and the time they spend with each other that matters.
hmm... they sure are blooming into young girls :-S

Fun on the Sand

25 May 2008 (Sunday)
Telok Cempedak, Kuantan

After the visit to the Sg Lembing Museum, we went to Teluk Cempedak. The girls were having lots of fun playing with the sand. And of course... the trip would not be complete without taking a little dip in the salty sea-water. They were a little bit reluctant and scared at first but after a few waves.. they were like two mermaids stranded on the beach..

LOL

IDIS-Club Dinner 2007

9 Sept 2007 (Sunday)
Kelab Darul Ehsan

That night Alliya was invited to a Dinner organized by IDIS-Club. It was held at Kelab Darul Ehsan and was the highlight of 2007 IDIS-Club activities. Lots and lots of presents to be distributed among members. A few simple games were held that night.. but a few were canceled due to lack of time. :-S
Alliya participated in the traditional costume competition and was chosen as one of the five winners. She was thrilled and at the same time disappointed since the 'limbo rock' game was canceled.
All and all it was a fun evening.. everybody went home hands full with presents and hopefully with a full stomach.. As for Alliya, even though she was very tired.. she smiled in her sleeps.. :-D

SK Sg Besi - Standard 3 Students Trip To The Zoo

5 September 2007 (Wednesday)
Zoo Negara

Since the standard 6 students were having their UPSR (Ujian Penilaian Sekolah Rendah)- which is a very important examination in Primary School level, the standard 3 students were suppose to have their day off on Wednesday since their classrooms were used for the exam.

The school has also arranged a trip to the zoo for the standard 3 students.. priority was given to the top few classes i.e. 3 Angsana, 3 Cengal etc.. Since seats were limited, Alliya was 'pestering' her ayah to sign the permission letter by promising to do many things i.e. study harder, drink and eat better and a lot more. After a very long lecture by her ayah on the do's and the don'ts.. finally, permission was granted and RM10 was paid to her class teacher.

When the day came, she was very excited and woke up very early in the morning. Along with drinks & biscuits..she was equipped with a hand phone and her Kodak Easyshare.. her ayah reminded her again to take good care of herself and the gears. What ever it is.. her safety should come first since hand phone and camera can be replaced..

According to her, the trip started at 10.30.. and by 1.30 pm they were already back at her school. They have to skip a lot of things.. but still she was having a blast with her friends!! ;-)

NOTE : all pictures were photographed by Alliya n her friends

Rambutan (A hairy fruit??)

12th August 2007
Kampung Padang, Kuantan

This is a LONG overdue update on this FP.. what can we say..except thousand apologies to all.. this year has been quite hectic for Alliya and her ibu... getting used to the change of our routines since we moved to our own place this year which is a little bit far from Alliya's school.. and not to mention the workloads that her ibu has to bear this year... What a year has it been!!

Anyway.. this is a special request from Alliya's Aunt, Aunty Na (she's still available.. for all the bachelors out there :-> ).

This was an outing arranged by Aunty Na. When we told her we wanted to buy some durians and rambutans, she made a phone call to her friend and walla!! we were invited to her orchard.. which actually was just at the back of her house. It was Alliya first experience and definitely she was very excited.. but it was almost at the end of the fruit season already (as usual..been so busy to make the trip 'balik kampung'). So the only fruits that were still available were the rambutans..

For those viewers who doesn't know what is rambutan.. read this quote from wikipedia
The rambutan (IPA: [ramˈbu.t̪ɑn], Nephelium lappaceum) is a medium-sized tropical tree in the family Sapindaceae, and the fruit of this tree. It is probably native to southeast Asia, although its precise natural distribution is unknown. It is closely related to several other edible tropical fruits including the Lychee, Longan and Mamoncillo. It is believed to be native to the Malay Archipelago where the name quite literally means "hairy." In Panama, Costa Rica, and Nicaragua, it is known as mamón chino.

That day also was the first time for Alliya climbing a tree.. eventhough she was screaming to get down.. it was an unforgettable experience for a city girl like her!!

Being the Hostess in Kuantan

10 -11 March 2007 (Friday - Saturday)
KL - Kuantan - Kemaman

This is another long overdue update (sorry ya Yani, Zabadi & Pak Njang). On these dates Alliya's family from Penang decided to travel to Kota Bahru via KL. At first, we were planning to join them but Alliya's ayah has other commitment so we decided to travel to Kuantan and send them off at Kemaman, Terengganu.

While we were in Kuantan, Alliya was very happy to be the hostess at our Taman Cenderawasih 'cottage'. We wished that we could take the 'geng' to more places in Kuantan but since Kota Bahru was their final destination... we had to settle by taking them to Telok Cempedak only.

For Alliya it was a memorable experience playing with the waves with Yani & Farah.. she wishes that the next time her cousins decide to visit Kuantan.. it will be for a few days not just for a nite. :-(

Flora Fest - Visit Malaysia 2007

28th January 2007 (Sunday)
Putrajaya

Malaysia Flora Fest 2007
Colours of Harmony [ 20 Jan - 4 Feb 2007 ]

Malaysia is celebrating 50 glorious years of independence with the Visit Malaysia Year 2007 campaign. With over 240 exciting events and programmes lined up, it will be a year-long celebration for both Malaysians and visitors alike.

In conjunction with Visit Malaysia Year 2007, the Malaysia Floral Fest is back with the biggest and most colourful display of flora in Malaysia. The theme for this year's Flora Fest is Colours Of Harmony, as Malaysia's colourful blooms represent the beautiful racial harmony found in Malaysia. For a whole week in January, several Putrajaya and Kuala Lumpur venues will be transformed with bright, colourful and fragrant blooms.

Inspired by past successes at the Pasadena Tournament of Roses Parade in USA, Malaysia's very own floral parade will grace the launch of Malaysia Flora Fest 2007.

Originally introduced in 1991, Malaysia's Floral Parade is the only such parade ever organized in Southeast Asia. And this year the parade will be more dazzling than ever. Participants from various organizations and state governments will try to outshine one another with their own floral creations.

Due to working and school commitment, we were not able to watch the Grand Parade in Putrajaya. It was a very frustrating day for Alliya and her ibu. :-S But we're happy to hear that all the floats will be on displayed until Monday in a so called Air-Conditioned tent.. eventhough it won't be the same like the Parade itself but at least we still had some chances of taking some photographs.

So on the Sunday, 28th January.. we headed to Putrajaya after we had our brunch. Had to pay RM5 (RM2/adult and RM1/child).. the number of crowd were quite ok but the parking system still need to be improved :-S (another sigh!!)

Alliya was getting ready with her Kodak Easyshare and was busy clicking once we got there.. she used up her 32Mb memory card so quickly and yet she still have 4 more floats left to capture. She was disappointed at first.. but she smiles again when we told her to use the Oly to capture the last 4 floats. These are some of the images captured through her eyes..
